Bats are beneficial to Wisconsin, providing natural insect control. They eat the insects that pester us, including mosquitoes that might carry disease. While bat colonies are beneficial, they pose a health risk when they live in our attics, homes, or businesses. For this reason, bat removal is best handled by a certified pest control and wildlife trapping technician.
Legal Bat Exclusion
Ewert Pest Control has the knowledge, experience, and tools needed to safely and effectively remove bats from attics or other structures. Bats are protected in Wisconsin, and it is illegal to kill them. Therefore, Ewert Pest Control uses legal exclusion strategies to humanely remove the bats and prevent them from returning.

What We Do
Bat Removal Process
Bat removal is a multi-step process:
- First, Ewert Pest Control inspects the attic or location of a bat colony. Technicians determine the size of the colony, entry and exit holes, species of bat, and the build-up of guano (bat poop).
- Next, Ewert Pest Control enacts a bat removal strategy. Certified technicians install a bat cone or one-way door so bats leave but don’t return. Later, technicians seal the exit points.
- Finally, Ewert Pest Control safely cleans the attic and insulation, removing the harmful, smelly guano. Bat poop can cause disease, damage wood, and leave a stench.
- Additionally, Ewert Pest Control will hang a bat house in the yard for home and business owners who want to keep the bats in the neighborhood.
